CE Marking ? Why ?

USA. One language..

The United States of America. 1 language.

Europe. 30 languages.
Europe. More than 30 different languages.

There are 19 different languages in the member states of the European Union alone:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden. The European Union has instituted a common standard for testing products from different areas that are marketed within the Community. Products that have been tested in accordance with these standards carry the CE label.

This label is easily recognizable in every country, no matter what language is spoken there. Thus, it simplifies the free trade among the member states of the EU.

For example, there are swimming rings for children without CE certification, which serve merely as colorful toys, and there are CE certified life preservers, which serve as learning aids.

Buyers of motorcycle clothing in Europe can be assured that garments which contain impact protectors with the CE label have been tested according to the European test standard prEN 1621-1 and thus comply with the unified minimum requirements set in this standard. It is an added advantage for them to be able to choose freely among the products of different countries in the EU and purchase motorcycle wear with protectors from any EU manufacturer.
